'Tis the Season!

We are going to start off playing catch up! 'Tis the season for holidays, holidays, holidays!! We started off the holiday season with Halloween and Breast Cancer Awareness month. We had the pleasure of donating 3 gift certificates to the Sandy Sokol Memorial Fund for breast cancer. We also had several Halloween Cookie orders that we thought we would share!

Then there were also Halloween Cookies. We LOVE LOVE LOVE doing holiday cookies. Halloween are always fun because you can get a little creative and a little extreme with them. This year we kept them fairly clean, no blood and guts this year. But we cannot wait to get going on designs for next year, we have some good ones!

Blogging has never really been something that I have kept up with on a regular basis. However, I intend to start doing just the opposite of that. Our company has continued to grow and we would like to keep doing just that. We have been looking for a store front in the Austin area. However, we have not had much luck in finding exactly what we are looking for in the area that we would like.. so, the search continues until we find that perfect spot to call our home. Our goals for our store front are of course, to make our delicious pastries available to you all daily and to increase our menu by almost 80 percent. We would also like to offer classes to teach you the basics of cake decorating, cookie decorating, and also offer baking and decorating classes for the kiddos. We will be teamed up with the amazing Hill Country Boutique and will also be offering crafting classes- of course, these are all in the works for when we find our perfect home for our store front. But isnt it so much to look forward to!! We could NOT BE more excited for this next step, but as they say, patience is a virtue!

As for now, be sure to follow our blog as we will start posting regularly as well as adding tutorials, links to other great sites, photos, and recipes. Thank you all for all of your support! As always, none of this would be possible without you!

As you all may know, we have branched out and now offer decorated cookies!! Decorated cookies have been an interest of ours for a long while and not too many places in Austin, Texas offer well decorated cookies. We also ship all over the US and also have them available on Etsy. Here are a few examples of our wonderful cookies! Not to mention we have flavors other than the traditional sugar cookie!

That Takes The Cake 2011

This past weekend was the annual That Takes The Cake Show here in Austin. We were a vendor for the show selling our cupcakes, cake pops, and decorated cookies. We had such a blast!! It was our first time every being at the show and being able to be a vendor was such an honor! We definitely hope to be back every year! Here are some photos from the show if you unfortunately missed it!!

Once again, I have gotten behind on the blogging. It has been busy busy latey with the upcoming That Takes The Cake show here in Austin. I cannot tell you happy I am that this show is held in Austin annually. It brings in cake artists and vendors from all over to display their works of art.

This year the shows theme is super heros or the "caked crusaders". I have to say.. I am pretty excited about this theme.. there will be some great show piece cakes I am sure! This year they have already hit over 320 entries!! There are great classes offered by Mike McCarey, Lauren Kitchens, and Michelle Bommarito! There will also be a Showcase demonstration from TLC's Cake Boss: The Next Great Baker.. definitely not a show you will want to miss this year!

Best of all... Sugar 'N Spice is a vendor at this years competition! We will be selling our gourmet cupcakes, cake pops, decorated cookies and other fun little treats for your kiddos! We will also have gift certificates given away in raffle prizes as well as door prizes! Make sure and stop by and grab some delicious treats.. we will have special show prices!!

Sugar 'N Spice is also competing in the confections division of the show so be sure to check out those as well!!
